Microneedling & Dermaplaning
Microneedling
What is Microneedling?
Skin-needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is the penetration of the skin by very small needles. This can be in the form of a stamp type tool with a long handle, a roller, or a mechanical device, known as a dermapen, micro-needling pen or needling device.
How does it work?
The penetration of the needles creates micro-injuries to the skin, which initiates the inflammatory healing response boosting new collagen production.
Over the next few weeks, a new collagen and elastin matrix is created, which continues for up to several months. This new matrix will start to thicken the skin and improve skin texture giving the skin a fresher, more youthful glow.
What skin issues can be treated?
- Fine lines on the face
- Scars
- Stretch marks
- Cellulite
- Acne
- Rosacea
- Enlarged pores
- Hair loss
Is there any downtime?
Microneedling can cause redness and some swelling, this can last for a couple of days. It is advised to have this treatment in advance of any plans or special occasions.
It is very important to wear spf after microneedling treatment.
Where can I have Microneedling?
Microneeding can be done anywhere on the body. Traditionally it is a facial treatment, however it is really effective on the neck and décolletage.
Essentially anywhere you have a problem skin area, with discolouration, scarring or aging skin, microneedling can be done, such as hands and stomach.
How many sessions do I need?
Everyone has different concerns so this answer will vary. However, it is generally recommended to have at least 3 sessions for optimal results.
You can book these individually or as a set of 3 sessions in advance.
Exosomes
What are Exosomes?
Exosomes are the latest technology in skin rejuvenation. These serums are an amazing alternative to injectables and are a rival to polynuceotides.
They are made from animal or plant DNA and work at a molecular level with your skin cells for continued rejuvenation and collagen production.
Dermaplaning
What is Dermaplaning?
Scraping away dead skin cells with a surgical blade.
The procedure involves using a small surgical blade to gently scrape the surface of the
epidermis with light, feathery strokes, leaving the skin smooth and vibrant.
This is the most effective way to exfoliate the skin, and if you have this done once you’ll want it time and time again
What are the Benefits?
- A more radiant appearance
- Increased absorption of topical products
- The reduction of fine lines
- Helps with dry, flaky skin
Will the hair grow back thicker?
The length and thickness of your hair anywhere on your body is determined by the follicle it grows from. Dermaplaning cannot change this and therefore your facial hair, or peach fuzz, will grow back exactly the same as it was before.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime for dermaplaning.
Both treatments can be booked together for the ultimate results.
