What Are Botox Injections?

Botox injections consist of Botulinum Toxin used as an anti-wrinkle treatment. The toxin interrupts the signal from your brain to your muscles preventing movement.

Botox injections can also be effective in treating headaches, bruxism and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Will the injections be painful?

Generally the injections do not hurt at all. However, everyone has different pain thresholds so if this is something you are really concerned about then there are options available including topical numbing and distraction techniques.

How long until I see results?

Botox takes 2 weeks to become fully active. During these first 2 weeks you will start to notice movement in the treat area reduce. At the 2 week mark you will have a review appointment to ensure the treatment has reached your desired results. If not further tweaks can be discussed as appropriate.

How long will the results last?

We would expect results to last 3-4 months and sometimes a little longer for treatments such as hyperhidrosis.

I don’t have any wrinkles and I want to keep it that way. Can I still have Botox?

Yes you can! Botox is suitable for most people and many clients choose to use Botox as a preventative measure to avoid any early wrinkles which prematurely age the face visually.
